About Hax

Hax was born in Uganda, East Africa. Mike’s family roots go back three generations into Colonial East Africa. Kenya is where he spent most of his childhood, whilst his parents managed hotels in some of Kenya’s prime wildlife reserves. 

Surrounded by photographs and films by his Grandfather and family, within Africa’s rich tapestry, Mikes creative talents were nurchured from an early age. Following his formal education in England, he launched his professional photographic career in the early 1980’s. 

Initially working from his own studio in London, Mike’s work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Company and Playboy. His photographic prints are collected as fine art throughout the world.

He is dedicated to pursuing the study of light and the “Art” of imagery. Today, Mike’s work encompasses beauty, fashion, landscape and reportage.

The progression from photography to film was inevitable for Mike. Initially, for the corporate sector then progressing in to commercial and now more recently into broadcast with Euro Sport, The History Channel, The Crime and Investigation Network and most recently Setanta TV. 

Today, Mikes work encompasses both commercial and editorial projects in stills as well as film and video. With the internet today, there has never been a more exciting time for digital image makers to use their creativity to touch potentially billions of people with education, information and art.
